Christmas Story & a Christmas Cookie!

This Friday at 4:30 p.m., (12/23) we will turn on the electric candles, turn off the institutional lighting, and we'll read as many Christmas stories as you'd like to listen to! Kids, come prepared to sit on the carpet and listen! Bring a blanket if you like!  Then, a cookie for everyone!  By the way, Tuesday Storytime will not meet until further notice, due to upcoming renovations.

Gentle Reads Book Club

Do you enjoy reading Gentle Reads/Inspirational books and would you like to discuss and share about what you read?

Reads for January, February, and March:

January 9: The Union Belle by Gilbert Morris
February 13: Bookshop by the Sea by Denise Hunter
March 13: The Water Keeper by Charles Martin

Books will be available at the library 3-4 weeks before the discussion - just ask for the book for the Gentle Reads Book Club. New members are welcome. 

Color with a Canine!

Special therapy dogs from Best Friends Pet Assisted Therapy invite you to color with them this Friday, January 6, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Coloring sheets, crayons, and colored pencils will be provided! All ages are welcome.

FREE MATH TUTORING WITH THE MATH MAN, MR. VIRGIL STEGNER

Tutoring begins at 5 p.m.  All ages are welcome.

The Youth Services department of the New Carlisle Library will be under construction beginning Monday, January 9. This process will involve new flooring, paint, and furniture, as well as a rearrangement of shelves, increased play areas, and more comfortable seating for adults. We will have a dedicated space for Teens, a flexible programming area for Storytimes and other gatherings, and a circulation desk in the department so that we can better assist patrons.

Homeschool Painting Class with Sam 

January 12 from 1-3 p.m.

This class is for ages 6 and up and intended for homeschool kids.

We will be painting.

This is a free class. You must reserve your child's spot by emailing readingisimportant@gmail.com. We will be painting with acrylic paints, so please dress accordingly. This is a child class and not a child-parent class. We are interested in the child's interpretation of Sam's project.

All supplies are included. Class size is limited.
